Radiohead disown a Los Angeles school auction's ticket lot
A Radiohead spokesperson has told NME that Blueyed Pictures, the company that put four Radiohead tickets into a Los Angeles school's fire-relief auction, does not manage the band and has no connection with it.
The auction, run by Palisades Charter High School after the January wildfires, closed on 17 March. Its Radiohead lot offered four tickets to a concert of the winner's choice, the city and date to be picked from the band's tour schedule. Radiohead have announced no tour, and have not played live since the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on 1 August 2018. The listing said the tickets came directly from the band's manager, and that the winner would arrange them with the manager; Rolling Stone Germany had gone as far as calling Blueyed Pictures Radiohead's management.
Within hours the school had replaced the lot with a generic offer of four “premier concert tickets”, reset the bids, taken down its Instagram post about it and deleted every mention of the band's management.
Resident Advisor, which first reported the lot on 18 March, also quotes a source close to the band who claims Radiohead have put holds on dates in some European cities for residencies in the autumn. The week before, on 10 March, all five members had registered a new partnership, RHEUK25 LLP, the kind of company the band have formed before past records and tours.
