Radiohead post Thom Yorke's 1995 solo set in Toronto
Radiohead have put online a VHS recording, unseen until now, of Thom Yorke playing alone with an acoustic guitar at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on 28 March 1995. Hello, I'm some bloke from some band who thought that you might want to hear me play.
3 That is how he walks on to open the club's Nu Music Night, before offering the room a few songs to help their beer go down. The Horseshoe is the club whose checkerboard floor The Tragically Hip sing about in “Bobcaygeon”.
The tape runs just over 24 minutes and is up in full on the band's YouTube channel, a day after The Bends turned 30.
Yorke played the set a fortnight after The Bends came out in Britain, and four of its five songs are from that record. He closes with “Thinking About You” from Pablo Honey.
