Fake artworks bought online were melted down and the metal cast in bronze. An Instagram account in the name of a metalsmith, Marien Marcel, had been posting the process for weeks.
Each of the 400 coins is finished by hand and numbered. Jonathan Zawada, who made the Tall Tales film, is credited on the new one alongside the two musicians.
The coins are hidden in many countries, by a growing list of helpers that includes the author Benjamin Myers and a number of record shops. They have turned up in graveyards, at landmarks and in nature reserves, and by the day the film came out, 71 had been found and registered.
