Thom Yorke is credited on “Mean Alley” in Jonny Greenwood's new score
“Mean Alley”, a piece in Jonny Greenwood's score for Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, was written by Greenwood and Thom Yorke. The credit is in the film's music listing, which The Playlist printed on 16 October, and Apple Music's credits for the Nonesuch album name both men as its writers.
It is the sixth of 18 tracks on the score album, out on Nonesuch since 26 September, and runs 2:46. Greenwood plays guitar on it with the London Contemporary Orchestra, conducted by Hugh Tieppo-Brunt. The film is the sixth in a row that Greenwood has scored for Anderson, going back to There Will Be Blood.
Anderson has filmed “Daydreaming” for Radiohead and Anima for Yorke. Rodrigo Perez of The Playlist calls “Mean Alley” the first official credit linking Yorke and Anderson.
