Lewis (Mistreated)

EMI split the “My Iron Lung” B-sides across two CDs so that fans would buy both, and this one went on the second.

the second iron lung cd

“Lewis (Mistreated)” came out in September 1994 on the second CD of “My Iron Lung”, the label's way of getting fans to buy the single twice, with “Permanent Daylight” and “You Never Wash Up After Yourself”. It is on the August 1994 work-in-progress cassette with the rest of that batch, and fan catalogues say the band have been dismissive of those songs while fans took to them.

The 2003 version of this site heard Thom Yorke giving advice to a friend who simply doesn't have it in him, over a guitar riff it called infectious. It also noted that, popular as the B-side was, Radiohead did not play it live. Two decades on that still holds, and the archive has no night for it.
