Where Bluebirds Fly
A fidgety electronic B-side used as the tape the band walked on to.
2003
the b-side
It came out behind “There There” and later on the Com Lag EP: rattling and electronic, with a title borrowed from the bluebirds in “Over the Rainbow”, which is a long way from what it sounds like.
Like “Fitter Happier” and “Meeting in the Aisle” before it, its real job on tour was to play while the lights went down.
2002–05
a tape, then two nights
On the 2002 dates in Spain and Portugal and through the Hail to the Thief tour it was the tape the band walked on to, and a tape is not a performance, so the archive does not count those nights. It was played live on two nights, at the Ether festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London in March 2005, where Thom Yorke joined Jonny Greenwood and the orchestra, and it closed the set twice.
