Ten tracks make up Kid A, and two of them are still unheard

written up for the archive

Radiohead have confirmed the running order of Kid A, ten tracks long, a day after Colin Greenwood named six of the songs to nme.com. “Treefingers” and “Idioteque” have not been heard at all. Of the other eight, every one but “Motion Picture Soundtrack” has been played on the European tour that opened in Arles on 13 June and reached the Royal Festival Hall, its only British date, on 1 July.

The album is out on 2 October, in the middle of the band's three nights at Victoria Park, Warrington, the last stop of the British tent tour.

“Knives Out”, the live favourite “Egyptian Song” and “Dollars And Cents”, which NME calls the band's most political song yet, are among the songs left off. Greenwood says they will come out on other new releases, and not only as EPs; the band want to put them together as another piece of work, sooner rather than later.

Greenwood also told nme.com at the Festival Hall that some songs on the album do not sound like their live versions, and that after talking it over with the producer Nigel Godrich he thinks that is a good thing. Otherwise, he says, all you are doing is a live version of the record every night and that is fucking dull for the audience as well as the band1.
