Radiohead win Best Video for “Pyramid Song” at the NME Awards
Radiohead won Best Video for “Pyramid Song”, Shynola's animated film, at the NME Carling Awards at the Planit Arches in London on 25 February, and Colin Greenwood and Ed O'Brien came to collect it. We're going to start work again in April. We're going to give it a bit more of a break than the last time.
1 After that come some shows in Europe in the summer, Colin said, and the band will take it from there.
The band went into the night with four nominations in the readers' vote on NME.com, level with the Strokes for the most: best band, best live act, best album for Amnesiac, and best video. The Strokes took best band and best album with Is This It. In the video category “Pyramid Song” beat Basement Jaxx's “Where's Your Head At?”, Fatboy Slim's “Weapon of Choice”, Gorillaz's “Clint Eastwood” and U2's “Elevation”.
O'Brien said rehearsals come first, then the studio. So many times you say it's going to be the three minute pop song record, and other times you say it's the prog rock record and it never turns out that way.
