At Ease fans release their own Radiohead tribute album

Members of the At Ease message board have finished Fond but not in love, a tribute album of 14 Radiohead songs by 14 fans, each recorded at home on their own equipment, from “Banana Co.” to “Backdrifts”. It can be downloaded, with its artwork, from a site set up for it.

The project began on 6 August 2003 with a board thread started by the member LiquidLanguage, who claimed “A Rabbit in Your Headlights”. Within a day others had taken “Lift”, “The Gloaming”, “2+2=5”, an early acoustic “Motion Picture Soundtrack”, “Fake Plastic Trees”, “I Will”, “Banana Co.” and “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”. In January ten designs for the cover went to a poll of board members.

The one rule, set within a day, was that whoever claimed a song had to record it, or give it back.
