Tall Tales makes Rolling Stone's and MOJO's albums of 2025

Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke's Tall Tales, released on Warp in May, is number 19 in MOJO's 50 best albums of 2025, published online on 15 December and in the magazine's January issue. Rolling Stone had already put it at 56 in its 100 best albums of the year, on 3 December.

The Rolling Stone note finds Yorke's vocals eerie even by his standards and picks out “Ice Shelf”, where his voice is pushed into something robotic. It credits Pritchard with keeping the tracks uncluttered so that Yorke has room.

MOJO's entry says Radiohead's first tour in seven years overshadowed whatever else the members did in 2025. It then sets Tall Tales beside Kid A for its alienation, its dread and its sound design, and names “The Spirit” as the standout track.
