Colin Greenwood says Radiohead have talked about a guitar album

written up for the archive

Colin Greenwood has told Wall of Sound, the American music website, that the band have talked about making a guitar album next. My best guess for the next album is a combination of 'Amnesiac' with more guitar music.1 Above all, he wants it to be songs with words rather than instrumentals. Thom Yorke, talking to this week's NME about making Amnesiac, says he misses guitars.

Kid A and Amnesiac, which is out in Britain on 4 June, came from the same sessions, and Colin says the last thing Radiohead wanted was to make another version of OK Computer. Listeners' tastes move on as the band's do, so the band try not to insult or bore their audience, and he finds being part of that exciting. The reason we did these two records is to show that anything is possible rather than everything is expected1, he says.
