Colin Greenwood plays bass on Tamino's “Indigo Night”

written up for the archive

Colin Greenwood plays bass on “Indigo Night”, the new song from Tamino, the half-Egyptian, half-Belgian singer. Tamino wrote “Indigo Night” in Amsterdam at 18 and calls it the most narrative song he has written.

They have friends in common and had run into each other by chance a couple of times before Greenwood came to one of Tamino's hometown shows in Antwerp last summer. I felt like we spoke the same musical language when we talked afterwards.1 When recording started, Tamino told Clash, they found a couple of songs had no bass parts, and he asked Greenwood.

Colin felt like the perfect match because of his melodic playing, whilst keeping an incredible groove.
