Radiohead end their tour in Copenhagen with “Karma Police”

Radiohead ended their European tour at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen on Tuesday 16 December, with the sold-out arena singing “Karma Police” back at them, Contactmusic reported. The same song had closed their last show before the break, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on 1 August 2018.

On the last night “Paranoid Android” moved up into the main set, 15th of 18 songs; at the other 19 shows it had come in the encore.

Thom Yorke's extreme throat infection had postponed the two Copenhagen nights from 1 and 2 December, so the tour finished here instead of in Berlin. The first of the pair, on Monday, opened on “Planet Telex”, and “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)” led into “Everything in Its Right Place”.

Emilie Bichel-Tuxen of Heavymetal.dk gave Monday 8 out of 10. Yorke's voice sounded a little frail to her on the opener and had settled by “2 + 2 = 5”, so quick a recovery that she put him forward for a Strepsils advert. Anders Thulin of POV International, one of 17,000 there, found the show forceful throughout, sometimes masterly and sometimes aloof, though from the floor the round stage often hid Yorke as he turned to the other sides. Both picked out “Exit Music (for a Film)”.

Across the tour the band played 45 different songs from a pool of 65 to 70, none of them from Pablo Honey. It was their first tour with no new album to promote. They played it in the round, which, the band said in October, they had not done since opening for Ned's Atomic Dustbin in 1993. No American dates have been announced.
