The Amnesiac song grew out of an early recording of “I Will”, which came out in a different arrangement on Hail to the Thief in 2003. Thom Yorke has told how he heard that take played in reverse from the next room, liked the melody better backwards, and spent the night learning to sing along to the reversed tape.
Two more Amnesiac songs were in the main set: “You and Whose Army?”, played every night of the tour so far, and “Pyramid Song”, which has come round on alternate nights. “Airbag”, second in the set, needed two goes after Jonny Greenwood began it without retuning his guitar from drop D.
“Like Spinning Plates” came fifth in a seven-song encore, after “Present Tense”, to disbelief from fans posting from the arena.
