Stefano Marino and Eleonora Guzzi write La filosofia dei Radiohead

written up for the archive

La filosofia dei Radiohead, by Stefano Marino and Eleonora Guzzi, is out from Mimesis, the Italian publisher with a series of philosophy books on pop and rock artists. In 120 pages it reads the band between two poles, technology and the soul, and follows the records from Pablo Honey to A Moon Shaped Pool in three stages.

The thinkers it calls on are Hans Jonas, Hannah Arendt, Martin Heidegger, Arnold Gehlen and Günther Anders. Francesco Nunziata, reviewing it for OndaRock, finds the argument strongest in the chapters on Kid A and Amnesiac. He rates the book serious without being a chore, one for fans and for thoughtful listeners alike.
